Ready to Read Alaska offers free training geared toward parents, caregivers, childcare providers, librarians, and early learning professionals, tailored to suit different audiences. Training provides information on early literacy, brain development, and ways to encourage engagement with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to help get them ready to learn to read. The book kits available from the program are highlighted as a free resource.
Staff are also available to come to childcare facilities within a 30 mile driving distance of Anchorage (including Head Start and preschool programs) to present a library-style storytime to groups of children.
